Happy 2018 from EMIGcast! To kick off the new year, 2nd year student Gabby Gioia sits down with Dr. Ran, an ICU fellow at OHSU who completed his residency in Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Ran gives insight into how Emergency Medicine Physicians can best partner with Intensive Care Units and provide the best care for patients until they are admitted – through resuscitation, monitoring and clear communication. While community settings may not have the same resources available to call Intensivists for evaluation, Dr. Ran’s advice on how to care for patients who are potentials for admission is crucial for maintenance of Emergency Room flow and transition of care.
